Ages 4 to 7
Kids Martial ArtsLittle Dragons
Confidence, focus and safety skills, sized for little kids.
- Monday to Thursday 5:30 pm
Little Dragons is where most of our youngest students start. At 4 to 7 years old, kids are not ready for complicated technique, and that is fine. What they are ready for is learning to listen, to control their bodies, and to speak up when something feels wrong. That is what this class builds.
What you will learn
In this class.
Stranger awareness
What to do if an adult they do not know approaches them, asks them to leave with them, or grabs them. Practiced calmly, as a skill, never as a scare tactic.
Body control and motor skills
Balance, coordination, left from right, stopping on command. The physical foundation everything later is built on.
Focus and listening
Short drills with clear instructions. Kids learn to hear a direction the first time and act on it, which parents tend to notice at home before they notice it on the mat.
Character
Respect, effort, and finishing what you start. The BADACE values are taught in kid-sized language.
A typical class
What to expect.
Classes run about 30 to 45 minutes and move quickly, because attention spans at this age are short. Expect a warm-up game, a technique of the day broken into very small pieces, a drill with pads or a partner, and a short talk about the character word of the week. Kids leave sweaty and proud.
Your first class is free. Wear comfortable athletic clothes, bring water, and arrive a few minutes early so we can show you around.
Questions
About Kids Martial Arts.
Is 4 too young to start martial arts?
For this class, no. Little Dragons is designed around what 4 to 7 year olds can actually do. The focus is listening, motor skills, awareness and confidence rather than fighting. If your child is not ready, we will tell you honestly after the free class.
Will my child get hurt?
Safety runs every class. Students learn control before contact, partner work is supervised and matched by age and size, and protective gear is used when appropriate.
What if my child is shy?
Common, and not a problem. Shy kids often do especially well here because the structure is predictable and progress is visible. Instructors will not force a nervous child into the middle of the room on day one.
Try it free.
